Little evil weevils, not! The little critters managed to get into my 500 grams worth of precious saffron I'd brought back from Turkey and totally infested the kitchean cupboard and everything above the kitchean cupboard like breakfast cereal. :( I'm so gutted.
I just made the most amazing meal however so I'm not too down on my luck. Grilled fresh fillet of salmon with sweet red peppers chopped and marinated with thai sweet chilli sauce. Sweet chilli rice and crispy seaweed :) hmmm but I'm stuffed now and I still have strawberries for dessert :)
Am still shattered after yesterday's work at Broadwater nature reserve near Denham with the wildlife trust. It was gorgeous out there but really hard work under the baking sun. Towards the endI felt pretty ill and so glad when I got back home and jumped straight into the bath. Am glad it's the weekend but no rest for the whicked as I'll be hooking up with Anna and some others in Camden which I'm looking forward too :)
More good news is that the eurostar tickets arrived in the post today - althou this means I am £118 poorer, I am just excited that I'll be going to Paris in October :) I was sorting out my room today and I found my Nightwish tickets I completely forgot about the gig so I have to refresh my memory about what I'm doing in September. I need a diary but I never look in those things.
First friday in September I'm hooking up with Lapis Companions in Holborn :) looking forward to that.
7th (Wed) of September - Kate Waterfield performing her 'Runa Megin - A Personal Journey with the Runes' which is in London and sounds quite exciting involving music and shamanic dance :)
10th (Sat) September - Meeting up with the Wildlife Trust at Hertford Hearth Village hall. Meeting up at 1pm for drinks in the local pub :)
24th (Sat) September - Kate Waterfield was scheduled to perform at the Pagan Federation International conference at Queen Mary's College in London however this has been cancelled :( Heathen Fest on 20th August will still be on as planned, sadly I won't be able to make it which is a shame. Check out two tracks from Runa Megin called Kenaz and Sowilo my favourite out of the two is Kenza because it makes me think of flamenco, tribal dancing, spanish horse riding, and all things that bring a secretive smile to my face the more I let myself think about it:)
25th (Sun) September - Nightwish (I don't even know the venue so I gotta get my ass into gear)
I'm just looking forward to October so much I'm forgetting all about September and looks like it too will be pretty busy in places :) I'm looking forward to the release of Quit Your DayJob's full length album titled Sweden We Got A Problem. I saw these guys playing at Download festival and I'm hooked on their style, craziness and sound :) Have a listen to one of their MP3's and a sample from Mystic River I posted a little while ago MP3. They fucking rock! "Look! A dollar!!" Thank you Charlotte for slapping me round the head and getting me to actually listen to them!
