Un Chapaux?Bonjour ma coupins. Finally bringing myself round to sit and write about the weekend in Paris. Mostly thinking about the sensation that is Cirque Plume and how chuffed I still am to have seen their act Plic Ploc. I couldn't afford to see Cirque du Solile last winter, but instead I got to see this fantastic troupe who're very popular in Paris. And most fantastic of all I got to see them in Paris and I even got to speak (very
shyly) with some of the performers after the show when trying to buy some merchandise :) I was too shy to even get an authograph.I'm enjoying my CD more than anything else at the moment. I also got the DVD & a t-shirt which is really cool. :) I took loads of photos with my new camera which you can see if you check out my flicker link but I will put some of the photos I couldn't get on to there on to here. I basically ran out of space! Someone sponsor me full flicker membership so I can put all my photos up into neat photo albums :) Esp now I have a digital camera, which takes really super pics :) I've been described by some as being trigger happy, now I can really prove them right, ha ha :D
What can I tell you folks about Paris that I haven't already told you? I'm so tired and thinking about it is wearing me out. It was really good. Saw or tried to avoid seeing loads of fellers standing about peeing or shitting all over the place. I had many a discussion with Charlotte about various subjects, one even involved shit :P Paris has made me come to accept my fetish for all things spikey & sharp and apparently according to Sigismund Freud my fetish would signify cock envy! However, in my concious state of mind I do not sense such intense evny. So I dunno what he was raving on about. I also have a thing for clocks, and it was fantastic seeing the Espace Dali museum in Sacre Cour. I love so many of his works. My favourites are his melting

clocks, Space Venus and Dream Passages the girl with a rope chaining her arms up high. I like all these symbols of mortality, time and the struggle to defy time. The girl in Dream Passages is in a position of both escape and defiance. I know what the description for this piece of art says. That she is in control and flowing with the mystery of time. But to me she isn't in control at all.
Her dress looks like it's caught fire, it is trailing behind her holding her back almost weighing her down. Her face i
s a contortion of blankness and a mess of flowers which stick panic in me. Her head is looking back over her shoulder at what she is trying to run from. Her arms flung above her head give mixed messages too. She could be skipping, she could be throwing her arms up in the air out of panic, she looks trapped. Infront of her the crutches stand in her path and beyond her the distance of time.Anyway enough of that :) Pictures!
The front side of the huge royal palace Louvre, with the huge roads
The royal palace Louvre building by night, looks spooky
View up the river by night, all shakey and blury
Notre Dame by night, this is the romantic side of the cathedral
Romantic sculpture I liked the look of in the Louvre
Inside the Muse D' Orsay I liked this sculture of an archer, it made me think of fight scenes in Lord of the Rings
This is on one of the ceilings inside the Louvre, I don't know what it is but it is a fantastic piece of art
I loved this male figure, he's full of expression. So bold and bumpy, with lovely curvy waves and a nice big leg showing off muscle by the looks of it ;)
The venue next door to the Moulin Rouge where Charlotte & I saw New Model Army perform their 25th anniversary
Inside the Louvre, I really liked this painting I know I shoudn't have taken a picture of it but I knew I'd probably never see it again and wanted to see it again somehow :) I don't normally enjoy looking at paintings of fruit salad, but this particular painting is really good. I'm curious to hear what you think?
View from the steps of Sacre Cour
Charlotte reading by a big fountain in Parc de la Villette where we saw Cirque Plume
