J'adore le Cirque!
I love clowns and trapeze artists and mimes. I love classical ones, I love fashionable ones. I just love em. I have loved clowns all my life. When I was a baby my parents hung a huge clown portrait in my bedroom. He had a tear drop falling down his eye and one on his cheek, a large dropping red poppy sticking out of his bowler hat and a gray little kitten in his arms. Very sad but very cute, I loved him. I also had a Clown teddy and he was my favourite teddy. I also had a clown jack in the box which was also my favourite toy. I seriously love all thingy to do with clowns. It's probably where I get my cookey dress sense froom, my love of weird unmatching things, things that are too big or two small. That don't look right. Frills and decorations. Clowns love frills, flowers, hats, you name it a clown loves to mix and match every style, every colour, every century that has gone by.

So why am I raving on about clowns? Because when I go to Paris I have to get to see Cirque Plume! Who're performing at the Parc de la Villette a show called Plic Ploc. It looks amazing. Check out the link to the Cirque Plume here. You will be able to see video clips and listen to an audio track, they're really weird but look fantastic.

So if clowns don't creep me out what does? Well I can show you.
This is a painting by Vilhelm Hammershoi, it is called Interior painted 1899. The woman in the painting is Hammershoi's sad wife, who he paints alot and has her in very similar poses. I find it sort of creepy, the big empty looking room and she looks sinister sort of like the girl in the movie The Ring.
This is a Jester, Jester's were "Clowns who performed as court jesters". Clowns don't just have one style, there are all sorts of different names for different types of clown. Some facts can be found here , here and here.
He's not exactly what you might call a clown but he's Alucard
which is Dracula spelt backwards and to me he's almost a Clown even though he's a manga Vampire. I love his features they are cool. He's almost got an Inspector Gadget look about him with his long thin arms and cool hat. But he kicks Gadger's ass with his long black hair, shiney John Lennon shades, massive silver gun, sharp nose, sharp teeth, whicked grin and great taste in style.
I do wonder about my facination with vampires and wheather it's linked with my facination of clowns. Wheather all vampire lovers are actually clown lovers deep down? There's all sorts of reasons historically for the myth about vampires. But there's no actual date sp
ecifiying when people first began dressing up and acting like one. Perhaps acting along with make-up and costume should realise that if it hadn't been for clowns and the travelling performers (gypsies basically) there might never have been this fantastic art/profession. The likes of Charlie Chaplin owe their fame, fortune, art and skill to them.
